Scholarship Duration
- Up to 2 years until graduation in June (21 months)
- Continuation is subject to annual review
JACAFA Foundation, fully supported by The Nippon Foundation, provides scholarships for university students in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. The program started in 2019.

Selection Criteria
Beyond academics, applicants should show excellent manners, honest character, pleasant personality, and strong English communication skills.
Applicant should have a firm and clear professional vision for post-graduation career development.
After graduation, successful applicants are expected to join the JACAFA alumni community and actively contribute to Annual General Assembly, conferences, forums, and related organization support.
Application Documents
Current student ID issued by the university where the applicant is enrolled
Valid official document issued by relevant government authority confirming citizenship
Valid passport copy permitting international travel
Most recent university transcript
Valid English proficiency proof (certificate or equivalent)
Short self-introduction essay (maximum 500 words) covering personality, background, and aspirations
Two or more recommendation letters from professors

Benefits & Obligations
Recipients may be invited to Annual General Assembly, Awarding Ceremony, and Conferences held across Eurasian countries.
For invited events, JACAFA covers flight ticket refunds and hotel accommodation.
As alumni, recipients may apply for the JACAFA Foundation Japan Visit Program contest for a fully paid trip to Japan.
Grantees must submit valid ID and current academic record when requested.
If a grantee discontinues studies, takes academic leave, or fails to comply with relevant national/international laws, JACAFA may suspend or cancel the scholarship.
Grantees are strongly expected to participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars organized by JACAFA (subject to participation selection when demand exceeds capacity).
Absence for valid reasons such as illness or exams may be accepted with supporting documents.
Absence from events without prior notice may lead to scholarship termination.
